Testimonials

One of Three people in our community has directly or indirectly been affected by The Salvation Army. The following are just a few of those who have chosen to express their gratitude.

One of the first things I got in recovery was the compulsion to volunteer which matched me well to The Salvation Army’s sign “Volunteers desperately needed”.  Over the course of a year I went from being a volunteer to a full time employee.  During this time I found that I was best suited for helping other addicts find recovery.  As I was growing spiritually in The Army I made the decision to give my life to the services of Christ.  I became a soldier.  Today I am the outreach worker and my work focuses on the homeless and their issues here on the North Shore.  I have great appreciation for what The Army has given me which is why it’s my personal mission to share what I’ve gained.

As a volunteer with The Salvation Army, my life has become more full of joy than I could have imagined.  In addition to the inner joy of helping people in need, there is the reward of being useful in the general life of the church.

The friends I have made in The Salvation Army enrich my life, my walk with Jesus has become more committed, my knowledge of the Bible has increased, and the overall quality of my life has improved.

I recommend The Salvation Army volunteer path to each person wondering how they can improve their quality of life.
